Chef de partie duties and responsibilities:
- Chef de Partie runs a specific section in a kitchen, whilst supervising junior members of the Kitchen Team,
- Prepares in advance food and beverage material and equipment needed for the service,
- Ensures adequacy of supplies at all times,
- Places orders in a timely manner,
- Manages ingredients that should be frequently available on a daily basis,
- Cooks and serves dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and the directions of the Executive and the Sous chef,
- Provides direction to the Junior members of the kitchen team (Kitchen helpers, including Commis, Cooks, Kitchen Attendants and Stewards),
- In the absence of the Superior, conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known,
- Conducts inventory and performs other administrative tasks,
- Performs other assigned duties,
Desired skills:
- Proven experience in a Chef de Partie role
- Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, tools and processes
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Great time management skills
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of best and latest cooking practices
- Ability to work as a team but also work independently
- Organisational skills
